Frosted Toast Crunch Cereal Review

Frosted Toast Crunch CerealGeneral Mills recently allowed me to try their new “Frosted Toast Crunch” Cereal and sent me a free box of it to try.  It’s like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but tastes like vanilla along with the cinnamon.

Let me start by saying this is definitely a kid’s cereal.  It is, like most kid’s cereals, sweet beyond reason.  I did like the hint of vanilla in the Toast Crunch, however.  The flavor was a nice change over the Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

My kids are not used to getting many sugary cereals, though, so they were definitely pleased.  The entire box was gone in a couple of days.  Since they did like it so much, I may get another box of the Frosted Toast Crunch, mix it with the Cinnamon Toast Crunch, add a handful of mixed nuts and divide it up in baggies in the snack drawer.  It will make a nice after-school treat for them to snack on while they do their homework (whatever that is – LOL).

Here is a recipe that looks pretty good.  The original used Cinnamon Toast Crunch – but I want to try it with the Frosted Toast Crunch:

Ingredients

5 cups Frosted Toast Crunch® cereal
3 cup Cheerios® cereal
1 bag (6.6 oz) original-flavored tiny fish-shaped crackers
1 bag (7 oz) pretzel sticks
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted

Directions

  • Heat oven to 300ºF. In large bowl, mix all ingredients except butter.
  • Pour melted butter over mixture; toss until evenly coated. Spread in ungreased 13×9-inch pan.
  • Bake 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
